Peshawar Zalmi won the PSL 2026 final against Hyderabad Kingsmen at Lahore on 3 May 2026. Hyderabad were dismissed for 129; Peshawar reached 130/5 and won by five wickets with 28 balls remaining.
Hyderabad entered the playoffs from fourth place and won both eliminators to reach that final. Peshawar arrived by a shorter route after leading the league stage. The difference explains why the final pairing cannot be read directly from the first two positions in the table.
Hyderabad's two eliminators
The first step was an eight-wicket win over Multan Sultans on 29 April 2026. Multan made 159/9; Hyderabad finished on 162/2 at the Gaddafi Stadium. The result removed the third-placed league side and gave Hyderabad another knockout match.
On 1 May 2026, Hyderabad made 186/5 against Islamabad United. Islamabad finished on 184/7, leaving Hyderabad with a two-run win and a place in the final. Those were separate elimination matches; combining their scores would not describe either contest.
The PSL 2026 results archive keeps both eliminators alongside the Qualifier and final, with all league-stage outcomes in the same place.
Peshawar's route from first place
Peshawar completed the league stage with eight wins, one loss and an abandoned fixture. Their 17 points placed them ahead of Islamabad on 13 and Multan on 12. A position at the top of the league still left a title to decide in the playoffs.
Peshawar beat Islamabad by 70 runs in the Qualifier on 28 April 2026. Their 221/7 against Islamabad's 151 secured direct entry to the final. Hyderabad then reached the same final through the two eliminators, after which Peshawar completed the five-wicket win on 3 May.
The season review therefore has two distinct answers: Peshawar led the league and Peshawar won the final. The final points table records the first of those facts; the individual playoff rows establish the second.
The qualification boundary was decided within a three-team tie
Hyderabad, Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings each finished the league on ten points, with five wins and five losses. Their net run rates were −0.361, −0.482 and −0.869. The final order placed Hyderabad fourth, Lahore fifth and Karachi sixth.
This is why reading points alone misses the last playoff place. The archive preserves the signed net run rates rather than sorting equally placed teams alphabetically. Those values apply to the completed league stage; Hyderabad's later knockout wins do not change their ten league points.
One abandoned fixture, not a missing result
Islamabad and Peshawar's match on 31 March 2026 was abandoned without a ball bowled. Both teams received one point. There is no innings score to insert for either side.
The record contains 40 league fixtures and four playoff fixtures. The abandoned row stays in that record with its actual status, while unresolved duplicate schedule entries from the provider are excluded. A fixture without play and a duplicate data entry are different things.
Keep the archive separate from viewing access
