A cricket bet depends on both the price and the settlement rules. You can lose the stake even when the selection looks plausible. Read the named market before deciding whether to take part.
Check the provider's eligibility rules for your location and age, its account terms and the conditions of any promotion. If you want to watch the match, check video access separately. Cricket Matches provides information and has no player or betting checkout.
Work out the return
Decimal odds state the total return per unit staked on a winning bet. In this illustration only, 8 units at 2.75 produce a 22-unit return: 8 × 2.75. That includes the original 8 units, leaving 14 units of profit before any applicable fees or taxes. A losing selection loses its stake.
This is arithmetic, not a suggested stake or a live price. Betfair's odds explanation describes the decimal-return calculation.
Identify the market and innings
Match winner, innings runs and series winner concern different outcomes and periods. Check the team or player, the innings and the deliveries included in your selection.
For a concrete example, Betfair's cricket rules, checked on 27 October 2026, settle Match Betting by the official result, including a deciding Super Over where competition rules use one. Its Match Fours market excludes Super Over fours. One match can therefore use different scoring boundaries for different bets.
Rain, an abandoned game, a draw and a tie need their own settlement checks. Find the minimum-play requirement, reserve-day provision and any exception for an already determined result. This example describes one operator's rules; another platform or market can differ.
Before registration or a bonus
Locate the account-verification requirements, accepted payment methods, currency and withdrawal conditions. Read the provider's applicable terms, such as the separate eligibility, verification and payment sections in Betfair's terms.
For a promotion, identify the qualifying deposit or bet, minimum odds, eligible markets, expiry, wagering requirement and withdrawal restrictions. The headline amount does not answer those questions. Do not assume a promotional balance is withdrawable cash.
A betting account and a stream
Confirm that the provider lists your match in the country where you will watch. An account, deposit, funded balance and qualifying bet are different conditions; use only those stated for that stream.
The IPL viewing guide compares broadcast routes. The site's affiliate disclosure explains its labelled commercial referrals. Those referrals do not establish video rights.
Controls to check before participating
Find the provider's deposit controls, time-out and self-exclusion options before using an account. Betfair lists these tools; their availability there does not establish equivalent controls elsewhere. Set a limit you can afford to lose and avoid trying to recover losses through another bet. Follow an exclusion rather than opening another account to get around it.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Super Over count towards every bet?
No. Read the specific market rules. The Match Betting and Match Fours examples above treat it differently.
Is an operator named here a recommended partner?
No. Betfair is cited for its published definitions and rules, not as the selected advertising partner. Commercial referrals appear separately and do not turn those examples into advice or a viewing guarantee.
